Here at Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service are main aim is making Lancashire safer and in helping us achieve that, one of our priorities is responding to fire and other emergencies quickly and competently.
We seek to deliver high standards of operational response. We prepare and plan for emergencies so that when an emergency happens, we do it quickly, with the right training, the right information and the right equipment to deal with the incident effectively and safely.
Your role will play a significant part in contributing to the success of this.
You will lead and manage the Driver and Vehicle Operator Training team, ensuring they are trained, informed and remain competent in role. Responsibilities also include the delivery, evaluation and quality assurance of driver training courses and associated material, ensuring effective use of resources to meet organisational needs and objectives. The Driver Training Manager will also work closely with the Head of Fleet & Engineering Service to develop driver and vehicle operator related training material and policies that are legally compliant and promote excellence in training delivery, through application (or development of ) sector best practice and quality assurance.
You will have a thorough knowledge of Roadcraft, Highway Code and Know your Signs.
It is essential that you have experience of driving tuition and hold a valid driving & vehicle standard agency approved driving instructor (ADI) (car) certificate and LGV license valid for 3 years or more with experience (cat C or C + E). Documentation to be validated at interview.
