COMMUNITY SAFETY ADVISOR 

Scale 5 SCP 12-17 £22,183 – £24,491 – To Include Fire Cadet LeadDuties

Pennine Area – Pennine Fire Station, Belvedere Road, Burnley, BB10 3AA

36.25 hours per week – Monday – Friday, flexitime working arrangements.

LFRS is currently recruiting for the post of Community Safety Advisor; the role of the post holder will be to help make Lancashire a safer community through promoting and advising on community fire safety and the wider determinants of health and well-being.

Applicants will be required to demonstrate an ability to support and communicate with vulnerable people living in the community, plus the ability to undertake a range of practical activities including the fitting smoke detection and associated equipment. It is also essential that applicants have a problem solving approach to completing tasks and can work on their own initiative, as well as working in a team environment. Community Safety Advisors deliver training packages to groups of people; therefore, applicants must have the ability to present information to small and large groups.

Community Safety Advisors lead a range of activities and engagement programmes associated with reducing the risks to young people within the LFRS Fire Cadet Programme. Applicants will be required to evidence working with young people and be prepared to work evenings and weekends as required.

A driving licence and the availability of a suitable vehicle for business use are also essential.

This post may be subject to DBS Enhanced check via the Disclosure and Barring Service and any post holder who undertakes regulated activity may also be subject to an additional Barred List check.

The closing date is 1200 noon, 22 October 2021 with the interviews being held 23 November 2021. The interview process will involve a short presentation.
